If you read study after study, information from many experts, it becomes apparent only a fool will continue to eat certain foods that are literally killing Americans. Trans Fats etc. and a long list of ingredients that are proven life shorteners are loaded in certain foods that should have been eliminated from your diet list long ago.
For a diabetic, this is a higher glycemic index then eating raw sugar. Eating sugar should have been gone from your diet list long ago, diabetic or non diabetic, (your body is not made to handle this level and if not yet diabetic,) remember the overall affect of high sugar is not a one time thing, it is cumulative, and like smoking, it is only a matter of time before it accumulates enough damage. French fries are to accumulating diabetes, what cigars are to accumulating lung cancer. Potatoes of all types should be off the list for diabetics and anyone on a caveman or natural body diet. Westerners were not introduced to potatoes until Columbus brought them back from his expedition
Worst of all nearly all commercial doughnut makers use Trans Fats, (hydrogenated) since it adds considerably to the shelf life of a doughnut.. Doughnuts are essentially flour and sugar (both bad news) fried in hydrogenated oil, (trans fat) up to 40% of calories from trans fat, If you are not familiar with the down side of eating any trans fat at all PLEASE read up on it and cut it TOTALLY from your diet. If you are a diabetic and have bought into many "experts" that tell you HOW you can continue to "get away with" eating certain amounts of FLOUR and SUGAR then I suggest you stop reading now, you are wasting your time here. There is literally no food value in a doughnut other then a sugar rush which will leave you hungry again in a short time. You are far better off eating NOTHING for breakfast. You will be hungry again shortly anyway. You are temporarily satisfying your hunger at the expense and result of then not eating nutrients your body desperately needs. If you are obese or diabetic and continue to eat even a single doughnut, or FRENCH fry, you NEED HELP!
The diabetic that knows that ordinary pop has from 10 to 16 teaspoons of sugar needs to know this is no longer "sugar", the pop industry has LONG SINCE switched to HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. This stuff is a MAN MADE sugar that reacts entirely differently in the body (liver) then table sugar and in addition does not turn off your hunger system. It should have and would have likely been banned years ago were it not for the corn lobby which supplies subsidized corn to this manufacturing process. This is BAD NEWS for a diabetic and should be avoided at all costs. It is also on the get off this immediately for the general population that has enough sense to come in out of the rain. Pop consumption now exceeds 50 gallons per person per year and has doubled right along with the lowering of life expectancy in the last ten years. Artificial colors, sulphites, phosphates etc contained in pop have been linked in studies to many illnesses and the evidence is overwhelming, even more so then the case against cigarettes, that "sodas" like cigarettes should NOT be allowed to be sold in schools etc. Many addicts foolishly think they have beat the game by switching to pop with ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS. Sugar is "health food" compared to all of these artificial sweeteners, and include names such as aspartame.. Next can of pop you see, visualize written across it, "SUICIDE." For two years, I have been researching what is killing Americans, not happening elsewhere. Pop consumption stands out and appears to me to be one of the main reasons US is recently dropped all the way to 17th in "life expectancy" in industrialized countries.
