Prescriptions Looking More & More Like A Racket

My doctor when I was diagnosed put me on Glucophage. The second month he put me on a combination of Glucophage and another drug that hyped up my pancreas.

Looked up the side affects and found the study used to approve this combo by the FDA had a very high death rate for the takers and low for the placebos..

Figured out this was upping my dying statistics much higher then just doing nothing for my diabetes. I quit after figuring out how to control my glucose better with diet and supplements etc.

Now, I find out Glucophage is the trade name and is $56.00 a month at Walgreen. If he had changed it to the IDENTICAL generic, Metformin, It would have been only $19.95.

Now I find out Target and Walmart will sell the exact same thing for $4.00.

Get this....Walmart and Target are NOT losing money on these.......at $4.

This means they are buying it for $2 or less and in quantity, likely $1.00 or less.

Think about this...this means this drug is costing the manufacturer probably 20 cents or less for the bottles worth. to manufacture....they mark up more then the retailer.

Now back up to the identical Glucophage also manufactured for 20 cents goes to the user for $56.00 "that was me" paying that.

Glucophage, Metformin same drug, has many side affects and even deaths and was banned in US for several years.

As I understand it, still banned in Canada. With this kind of money (profits) involved do you see why there is so MUCH POLITICAL clout? They can buy it.

Now, Glucophage might be advisable to get you under control in a hurry, but long term, I would look at these side effects seriously...

Anyway, you will really only need to pay $2 for it now. Read my trick (elsewhere) on how to use simple method approved by your pharmacist(with $5 investment) to cut this to $2 a month.

Next example... I bought at the health grocery type store bulk psyllium husks, for $3 for like a gallon scooped into plastic bag, and I am sure it probably never cost that store more then $1. in bulk

Now you know this likely as Metamucil which is psyllium husks with a lot of fillers including some sugar. (taking this stuff before meals in one study lowered BG 20%) This why we recommended diabetics switch to a non sugar version such Konsyl sold at Walgreens which is pretty much straight Psyllium. (says 100%) on label, nothing added.

This container which is smaller then a paint spray can size, cost me $18.00 plus.

My bulk amount at this rate would have cost me over a $100. $1. worth retailed at $100.

Keep in mind, this did not take an expensive pharmacist on the pay roll to sell me this. This is just the standard mark up mentality in the business.
