Learn to take your own pulse. Lie down and rest for five minutes and then take your resting pulse rate for one minute.If you are over 75 BPM, studies indicate that you can definitely improve your life expectancy by lowering your pulse rate. Lower it by 7 BPM and you can increase your life expectancy to as much as 80%. We suggest that you take this reading once a week, write it down and watch your progress over a six month period.How you lower your resting pulse rate is another story, but basically consists of you getting in better physical shape.
