Your finger prick test meter does absolutely nothing to fix your diabetes. It only educates you over time. It is a "feedback" device. The trend result of many testing - you eventually get some clue to what raises your BG consistently and what actually has little effect on you.You can carry this in your pocket and it works anywhere. Then screw on the cap and keep test strips air tight before putting in your pocket. As you get your BG effects under control over a 6 month period ( it is a slow trend), you may see that six months from now, a certain good effect on your BG has gone down. Therefore, if you try some natural food etc. such as cinnamon and you do not see immediate results, understand it takes time - many days or weeks to see the effect.Note two: This is why we say you may need your doctor to put you on some prescriptions to get your BG under immediate control, while often times you get it down and well under control with supplements, lifestyle changes etc. When that happens you cut down on the prescriptions amount and your doctor will agree as you learn to keep it under control without prescriptions and the often devastating side effects that goes with them.
